Why Invest in Solar?
There are a number of cost and environmental benefits to becoming energy-independent with a solar panel system for your home.
Lower Electricity Bills
Solar energy can significantly lower or even eliminate your electricity bills. Incentives are also available for Denver area residents in the form of tax credits and rebates.
Increased Home Value
Homes with solar panels typically sell for more than those without, making it a smart investment in your property.
Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
Solar power reduces your reliance on fossil fuels, helping to reduce carbon emissions and combat air pollution.
Solar Incentives
Federal Investment Tax Credits
Using this federal credit, homeowners receive 30% of the cost of a solar system. This tax credit can also be combined with Colorado incentives to save even more money.
Net Metering
Colorado residents are eligible to enter into a program called ‘net metering’. With net metering, if your solar system produces more than you use you can sell that power to the grid.
Colorado Solar Sales Tax Exemption
In the state of Colorado, solar power equipment is exempt from sales tax, saving you money on your initial purchase.
Colorado Property Tax Exemption
Installing solar panels typically boosts the value of your home, leading to higher property taxes. However, Colorado residents who choose solar are allowed an exemption that ensures the increased property value from solar installation remains untaxed.
Low Interest, Zero Down Loans
The Colorado Residential Energy Upgrade Loan (RENU) allows you to borrow money for the installation of solar systems or battery storage with a low interest rate and no money down.
